This page shall help you to understand what we mean by these coffee types and shows you how to serve these coffees

Ristretto
The Ristretto originates in Italy. This short drink, normally taken after a meal, is only for true coffee lovers.
The brewing water (30 - 50 ml/Cup) is pushed through the compressed powder under a high pressure of 8 to 10 bar. The typical look of an Espresso is the hazel nutty, velvety Crema and the full, rich Aroma.

Ristretto

Espresso
The Espresso originates in Italy as well. This is the classical Italian beverage and it has given its name to beans as well as a brewing principle.
The brewing water (50 - 90 ml/Cup) is pushed through the compressed powder under a high pressure of 8 to 10 bar. The typical look of an Espresso is the hazel nutty, velvety Crema and the full, rich Aroma.

Macchiato
The Macchiato is an Espresso with a small cap of milk foam on top.
This beverage is for those who like Espresso but like to have it a bit less strong and smoother with some milk.
Brew the Espresso long so the taste is smooth and not to strong.

Macchiato

Café Crème
The typical Swiss national beverage, also called Café Schüümli or Regular Coffee, makes its way around the world.
The brewing water (180 - 220 ml/Cup) is pushed through the compressed powder under a high pressure of 8 to 10 bar. That makes a light brown, velvety Crema on top of the coffee. The Café Crème is sometimes called elongated Espresso..

Caffe Creme

Cappuccino
The base of a Cappuccino is an Espresso. The Espresso is topped with Milk foam and some cocoa powder.
The Cappuccino can be prepared automatically with the Jura IMPRESSA Z5, X7 and X9 Machines.
With fully automatic machines, the milk is foamed first and then the Espresso added.

Café Latte (Café au lait)
This french specialty consists half of Hot Milk and the other half is Espresso. To make it look more appetizing it is topped with a small amount of milk foam.
The Cafe Latte can be prepared automatically with the Jura IMPRESSA Z5, X7 and X9 Machines.

Latte Macchiato
This Italian specialty consists of one third hot milk, one third Espresso Coffee and one third Milk Foam. In order to get the typical layers, you put the hot milk first, then the milk foam and lastly the Espresso.
Even Latte Macchiato can be prepared fully automatically with the Jura IMPRESSA Z5 and X9-Machines
